DJ on BBC Radio 1 with residencies at BCM, Cream at Amnesia and Pacha
As one of the most high profile DJs in the country today, you can’t deny that the Danny Howard story has been nothing short of monumental since he won that competition all the way back in 2011.
With 1.8 million people now tuning in to his Dance Anthems show on BBC Radio 1 every weekend, a weekly show on US satellite station SiriusXM, a monthly podcast that consistently hits the #1 spot on iTunes and a monthly column in one of the world’s biggest music publications, DJ Mag – Danny Howard is certainly not a man who is hiding away in the shadows.
The last few years have seen Danny explode to the forefront of dance music as we know it and the list of legendary venues that have experienced Danny Howard’s show-stopping sets reads like an encyclopedia of dance floor royalty: Global Gathering; Gatecrasher; Ministry of Sound; Pacha NYC; Creamfields; the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas; Spinnin’ and Perfecto parties in Miami – not to mention a weekly residency at Pacha in Ibiza and regular spots on the line ups of Amnesia, Privilege, Sankeys and Space.
But move to the studio and Danny’s production talents are equally impressive. Signed to Spinnin’ Records with over 20 releases to his name and over a million online plays, Danny has been a regular feature on the Beatport charts with tracks like Bullet, Vargo and Romani, has worked with legendary figures like Paul Oakenfold and DJ Fresh, and hit the US Billboard top 20 with the Futuristic Polar Bears. Couple this with 45,000 Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide albums sold, an iTunes #1 with his BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems Compilation that shifted 75,000 units and a #1 iTunes Podcast that has seen Danny cemented as one of the country’s most respected taste-makers.
2015 has seen his UK-focused Nothing Else Matters brand explode to the forefront of dance music with its first ever UK tour that took in 14 dates across the country and played host to the likes of Annie Mac, Disciples, Philip George, 99 Souls and GotSome. With previous guests including Mark Knight, Disclosure and Pete Tong at sell-out shows in some of the country’s top venues, it’s unsurprising that the brand is making its first foray overseas with a residency at the legendary BCM Mallorca and a night hosting the terrace at Amnesia for Cream in Ibiza. With the brand growing in strength and numbers with every event, Danny Howard is determined to succeed in his mission to promote British music as the best in the world.
If you’re exhausted reading all this, imagine how Danny feels – there’s no doubt though that this is only the beginning and as the whole world watches on, the Danny Howard story continues to unfold.
