Deputy Vice Principal of the School of Creative Industries at Pearson College
Ian is Deputy Vice Principal of the School of Creative Industries at Pearson College.
He has worked for more than 20 years developing programmes in digital media, games, animation and visual effects, following a career as an electronic engineer.
He holds a doctorate in computer animation from the University of Sussex, having developed a new method of collision detection for real time 3D objects.
His focus has always been on combining creativity and practical industry skills in the courses he has designed,
working closely with organisations such as Creative Skillset and the BBC on developing new talent and upskilling existing practicing professionals. This work was recognised in 2014 when he was awarded a National Teaching
Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy.
Ian is also a member of the BBC Trust Audience Council England.
