Dr Rachel O'Connell

Dr Rachel O'Connell has spent the majority of her working life thinking about, researching and collaborating with others to formulate innovative technology policies that are designed to enable tech based companies to continue to deliver compelling products and services, whilst protecting end users and complying with legal and regulatory requirements. Rachel's PhD focused on criminal activity online and explored the implications for investigative strategies. Rachel has led a number of influential research teams and policy groups and was Chief Security Officer of a social networking site called Bebo. Currently, Dr O'Connell is a research consultant with the Oxford Internet Institute and contributes to the policy and commercial discussions underpinning electronic identities, e-payments, e-health and the Internet of Things and she is curator of www.GroovyFuture.com
