Dr Tom Flynn

London-based art historian, journalist and art market consultant

Tom Flynn is a London-based writer, lecturer, curator and art market consultant. He teaches the history and business of the international art market at a number of UK universities, including Kingston University, on Christie's Art & Business Masters course, and on the London-based Masters course in Art & Business run by the Paris-based IESA (Institut des Études Supérieures des Arts).

As a journalist, he has contributed to, inter alia, The Art Newspaper, Art & Auction, Apollo, Museums Journal and The Spectator. He has held board level management posts in a number of private sector art businesses and from 2006-2008 he was CEO of Eyestorm.com, the online limited edition contemporary print publisher and retailer.

He is a member of the UK branch of AICA, the International Association of Art Critics, and writes and lectures widely on the art market, contemporary sculpture, cultural heritage, and art crime. In 2007, he founded The Sculpture Agency to promote a critical understanding of contemporary sculpture and he blogs on art market and cultural heritage issues at Artknows.co.uk.
