Dr Valerie Stead

A Senior Lecturer in Leadership and Management at Lancaster University Management School, and a UNESCO sponsored Visiting Scholar in 2016 at George Washington University, USA, Graduate School of Education and Human Development

Valerie's research interests adopt critical perspectives to examine the impact of gender on how we understand, learn about and practice leadership. With a focus on women leaders in both organizational and entrepreneurial settings, her publications, including books, scholarly articles and book chapters, illuminate how gender, power and identity are intertwined.

Current projects include international collaborations to interrogate textual and visual representations of women's leadership in the media, and the influence of social media campaigns on workplace equality.
