Degree qualified Nutritionist who specialises in alternative dietary approaches for health
After completion of her BSc in Nutrition, Emily went onto study for a Masters in Obesity Science and Management. This combined with her several years of experience working within the commercial weight loss sector, has given her unprecedented insight and extensive knowledge into this area. Emily has a passion for all things nutrition, but she specialises in the use of alternative dietary treatments for the use of obesity and its co-morbidities. Her Masters research project looked specifically at the impact of following a low carbohydrate diet within type 2 diabetic individuals. She has counselled many clients on this form of dietary approach, focusing on achieving but most importantly sustaining their goals. Emily has also travelled to experience many key speakers in this field presenting the most up to date research. Being an advocate of alternative dietary lifestyles, she is keen to share the myths and truths surrounding the ever confusing and interesting topic of nutrition. It isn’t all as simple as saying calories in equal’s calories out.
On a personal level, Emily herself follows a low carbohydrate diet of which she swears by for her body. In order to help share her insight and show that this way of eating is truly sustainable, she has started up her own site. The site contains lots of recipes, tips and blog insights into the science of this particular nutrition. When she isn’t devising new recipes in the kitchen, she will most certainly be found strength training or partaking in Bikram yoga as part of her daily routine.
