I am the Labour Member of Parliament for South Shields and Shadow Minister for Children and Families. Before entering the House of Commons, I worked as a child protection social worker. I served as Councillor for the Primrose Ward in South Tyneside and as Lead Member for adult social care. I was first elected as MP for South Shields in 2013.
