Documentary filmmaker based in Mumbai
Faiza studied Social Communication Media at Sophia Polytechnic in Mumbai after which she worked with production houses for a few years. Four years ago, she started making her own documentaries. Her first, Supermen of Malegaon, won over 15 awards at film festivals worldwide and released theatrically in India in 2012. She is currently working with and filming people's movements involving land rights and livelihoods across the country, particularly in Mumbai.
