Gill Slocombe

Gill Slocombe is the Chief Guide at Girlguiding [LINK: www.girlguiding.org.uk], the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK with more than half a million members including 100,000 volunteers. She started out as a Brownie and has continued to be involved in Guiding for most of her life. Gill was named as Chief Guide in May 2011 and as part of her role she wants to make sure that she gives young people the opportunity to build confidence and become strong individuals, who can contribute to the world around them in a meaningful way.
Away from Guiding, Gill works with young offenders, helping them through difficult situations and helping them make more of their lives.
