Howard Lake

Howard Lake is a digital fundraising entrepreneur. A former
fundraiser at Oxfam, Afghanaid and Amnesty International, he created
the world's first web resource and community for professional
fundraisers in 1994. UK Fundraising features news, comment and resources from fundraisers around the world. Howard wrote the world's first book on how to fundraise online in 1996, and his company Fundraising UK Ltd has trained thousands of fundraisers in how to fundraise online.

He is consistently voted in the 50 most influential in fundraising by
readers of Fundraising magazine, and has been a judge on the National
Fundraising Awards for the past five years. He has been an innovator
in the sector from the early days of establishing an email discussion
forum for Amnesty fundraisers around the world, through developing a
blogging network, to running the first courses on how to fundraise using Twitter.

He advises a range of digital fundraising companies and startups, as
well as charities. He is still convinced that digital media has the
potential to help charities and social businesses achieve an even
greater impact.
