Ian Scoones is the Director of the ESRC STEPS Centre and a professorial fellow at the Institute of Development Studies. He is a lead researcher in the Dynamic Drivers of Disease in Africa Consortium.
Ian Scoones is co-director of the ESRC STEPS Centre, a professorial fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, and joint coordinator of the Future Agricultures Consortium. He originally trained as an ecologist but has since worked on institutional and policy issues surrounding agricultural and environmental change, particularly in Africa.
