Britain’s first transgender television newsreader, reporter and presenter
India Willoughby is Britain’s first transgender television newsreader, reporter and presenter, currently working for ITV. Her unique journey has seen her grace the covers of newspaper and magazines worldwide and back in the UK she’s also a popular contributor to hit shows such as Loose Women and Lorraine, as well numerous other appearances on television and radio, including BBC 1’s Inside Out, BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC radio 4’s Womans Hour.
India has written articles for a variety of publications, including the Mail on Sunday, and is currently writing her first book. When not appearing on television or radio, India’s warm, open, and witty style is increasingly in demand at engagements around the UK – with India on a mission to de-mystify some of the most common misconceptions about what it’s like to be transgender. India has hosted and addressed events for everyone from the Air Ambulance Service to Fixers Youth Charity. India is also the first transgender person in the UK to be appointed the Independent Chair of a Football Association Equality Panel.
