Jane Ashworth

StreetGames is a national sports charity that helps engage young people from disadvantaged areas in sport. Launched in 2007, the charity now has a network of 900 projects nationwide and by 2017 will have engaged over 500,000 young people in the 20% most deprived communities in the UK.

With over 30 years experience in sport, Jane began her career by setting up what has now become Sunderland WFC and has also worked at Sport England and the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit of The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. Jane now devotes her time and energy to raising awareness about inequality in sports participation and giving young people in disadvantaged communities sporting opportunities.
