Jane Burton

Creative director at Tate, blogging on art and visual culture

Jane Burton is Head of Content and Creative Director at Tate, and one of Tate’s team of passionate art bloggers.

She started out as an arts journalist, but now spends most of her time thinking up ways to use technology and creative digital content to bring art alive for people, whether they’re visiting one of Tate’s four galleries, or online anywhere in the world; and she’s won a couple of BAFTAs along the way.

As well as TateShots, a weekly video series about art, some projects she’s particularly proud of include ‘The Tate Movie Project’, a crowd-sourced movie, made with Aardman Animations and thousands of children; ‘The Gallery of Lost Art’, a virtual exhibition about missing masterpieces; and ‘This Exquisite Forest’, a new form of artistic collaboration, involving established artists and an online community.
