Jodie Sandford

Oxfam Supporter and mother of two

Jodie Sandford (38), is a mum-of two and IT Manager from Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Jodie is the first person ever to take part in ‘See For Yourself’; Oxfam’s major new fundraising campaign enabling supporters to see how their donations, no matter how big or small, have a big and meaningful impact on the lives of people living in poverty. Last week Jodie Sandford was in Zimbabwe visiting an Oxfam project and seeing firsthand how her monthly donation to Oxfam is spent. While she was there Jodie visited a water project that is aimed at providing the community in the Gutu District of Zimbabwe with sustainable and reliable food sources. She met the local people, asked questions and reported back with a personal account of her thoughts and feelings about witnessing Oxfam’s work first-hand.

Jodie’s whole experience was filmed and will form part of a TV, print and online fundraising campaign launching in April to encourage more people to donate to Oxfam on a regular basis as Jodie does. She also wrote a blog whilst she was there.
