Linda Butcher, Chief Executive of SMK

Linda Butcher has led the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK), a UK charity that connects, informs and supports campaigners, since 2008. Prior to that she was Chief Executive of Off the Streets and Into Work (OSW), a charity that addressed homelessness and multiple disadvantage and combined service delivery with influencing for change.

Having been active in the voluntary sector for nearly three decades, within community groups, charities, campaigns, co-ops and social businesses, Linda is well equipped to offer a unique and knowledgeable insight into campaigning and other issues.

Since 2008, Linda has been a member of the London School of Economics Research Ethics Committee. She is also a trained cabinetmaker and polisher, and ran her own business making and restoring furniture.
