Poverty and Inequality Initiative Research Assistant
Lukhanyo Velelo is a research assistant at the Poverty and Inequality Initiative at UCT. This was after he was the 2016 intern of the Institutional Planning Department at the same university. After having studied from an extremely underprivileged high school in Joe Slovo Park, a small township in Milnerton Cape Town, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economic Science from Wits University. He is currently enrolled for an honour’s degree in Development Studies at UCT. All he wants is to sing praises about South Africa but as an imbongi he cannot lie.
