Malu Halasa is an editor, writer and curator in London. Her books include Syria Speaks: Art and Culture from the Frontline, The Secret Life of Syrian Lingerie: Intimacy and Design, Creating Spaces of Freedom: Culture in Defiance and Kaveh Golestan: Recording the Truth in Iran. Her occasional book series, Transit features new writing and images from Middle Eastern cities and includes Transit Tehran: Young Iran and Its Inspirations (with Maziar Bahari) and Transit Beirut. In 2012-13, she co-curated the travelling exhibition of Syrian uprising art Culture in Defiance: Syria Speaks that was shown in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and London, 2012-13.
