Mark Vernon is a writer, journalist and author. His latest books are The Big Questions: God (Quercus) and God: All That Matters (Hodder). He also broadcasts on the BBC. He began his professional life as a priest in the Church of England. He is an honorary research fellow at Birkbeck College, London and has degrees in physics, theology and a PhD in philosophy. He teaches at The Idler Academy in London, and is involved with The School of Life. He is the editor in chief of the Chambers Dictionary of Beliefs and Religions, and other book titles include, How To Be An Agnostic (Palgrave Macmillan), The Meaning of Friendship (Palgrave Macmillan) and Plato's Podcasts (Oneworld).
