Chair of the British Youth Council Trustee Board
Mita is a 24 year old Social Policy graduate and Chair of the British Youth Council Trustee Board. At 16 she signed up to a youth service and was introduced to a world where young people’s voices mattered and people were making a difference on issues they were passionate about. Since then, she has been an ambassador for Britain in the 2009 ‘European Youth Exchange’ programme, a delegate for the 2010 ‘World Aids Conference’ in Vienna, represented Birmingham University in UK debating tournaments and volunteered with: PASS, DebateMate, and Envision. In 2013 she managed a camp with the Fresh Air fund, a New York based charity, and won the "Institutional Employee of the Year’ award after her role in marketing a University careers course led to a record enrolment rate. In 2015 she was appointed as an Advisory Council member for Step Up To Serve and was given an award from the British Dyslexia Association in recognition for her services towards Dyslexia. Mita currently works for The Challenge where she writes the curriculum for the Nation Citizen Service.
