Nick Stanhope is CEO of Shift, a London and San Francisco based social enterprise that designs consumer products for social change.

By creating products that meet consumer demand and that can grow to scale as self-sustaining social ventures, Shift aims to have a measurable, long-term effect on complex social, environmental and health issues. Shift has launched a series of products, including the I’m Not a Plastic Bag, Historypin and Box Chicken, and works across a range of areas of R&D, such as mental health, youth obesity and financial planning.

Nick started out as a teacher, youth worker and campaigner, working for charities such as Anti-Slavery International and TimeBank.
