Hi, I'm Patrick Bryan, Head Shaveologist at The Wet Shaving Company and principal tutor at The Wet Shaving Academy.

I've been a professional remedial masseur for nearly 20 years now and realised about 10 years ago that if I wanted to truly relax I did so not on a massage table but in a barbers chair, having a straight razor shave.

At this time it was becoming increasingly difficult to find UK barbers offering this great service. I decided that rather than bemoan this fact I should become part of the solution! Eventually I tracked down what proved to be the last barber still offering training in this great craft.

From the start I wanted to take traditional hot towel wet shaving out of the barbershop and re-position it as a properly relaxing treatment, not just a purely functional 15 minute shave. My Luxury Shave is a 30 minute treatment which features a brilliant, unhurried, shave coupled with lots of hot and cold towels, the best shaving products and a face massage. I also offer the seriously pampering Ultimate Shave, 60 minutes to include all of the luxury shave, plus a deeply relaxing neck, shoulder and scalp massage, or for problem skin, a focused facial to include facepack.

Having sourced some brilliant lightweight barbers chairs I have been able to sever the final tie to the barbershop and am able to offer my services anywhere. Corporate events and hospitality, weddings, parties, festivals are all possible - you name an event and I can provide a shaving package for it, whenever and wherever!

This year, after performing hundreds, if not thousands, of shaves I have felt it's time to pass on my skills and experience to the next generation of shaveologists. Barbers, hairdressers, beauty therapists, masseurs, brick layers, bus drivers, I can train anyone and everyone to be a professional shaveologist.
