Award-winning filmmaker
Pratibha Parmar is a multiple award-winning filmmaker. A pioneer in speaking out on LGBT rights and visibility she has been honored with several Life Time Achievement awards for her significant contribution to feminist and queer filmmaking. These include the Frameline Film Festival Life Time Achievement Award (1993), The Pink Peacock Award (1995) presented by Trikone in Recognition of Exemplary Service to the South Asian Queer Community and One In Ten Visionary Award (2007) presented by Reel Affirmations Festival, Washington DC.
