Secretary for Foreign and European Union Affairs. Economist
Born in Barcelona in 1980.
Economist. Master in Economic History from the University of Barcelona (UB)
and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. BA in Business Administration
and Management from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He attended the
Vicens Vives Program on Leadership at ESADE (Barcelona) and participated
in numerous courses on International Relations offered by Council of Europe,
NATO, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and
they Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).
In 2002 and 2003 he took part as an observer in the Convention on the future
for Europe that was responsible for the drafting of the European Constitutional
Treaty. He participated in various electoral observation missions in Honduras,
Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Macedonia and Georgia.
Between 2004 and 2008 he was President of the European Liberal Youth and
a member of the Bureau of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe
(ALDE) party. From 2008 to 2010 he was Director of the Catalan Fundació
Cercle d'Estudis Sobiranistes. From 2011 to 2013 he was Director of the
program to support the Union for the Mediterranean of the Government of
Catalonia.
Militant of Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya party since 1997, he is
a member of its National Executive Committee since 2012, Coordinator for
International Relations since 2011, and National Advisor since 2000.
He was Assistant Secretary General for youth organization Joventut
Nacionalista Catalunya from 2006 to 2008. In 2004 he was candidate of
Convergència i Unió (CiU) party in the European Parliament elections.
