Roger is American who has lived in Europe for over 20 years. Roger is currently a managing partner in his own real estate investment business, but prior to that he spent over 20 years in senior positions for various banks - including Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch - which allowed him to see the financial services industry from the inside. Scarred by this experience, and having a great interest in economics and finance, Roger now makes short comments on financial and political developments in these posts and longer and more technical comments in his personal blog, Economic Man (www.economicmanblog.com). Roger aims to make serious points in an entertaining and frequently scathing way. Roger political views run strongly to the libertarian and he criticizes government folly and "crony capitalism" equally.
