Sarah Callaghan is an award-winning comedian, actor and writer.
She began performing comedy in 2010, quickly making her mark by becoming a Funny Women finalist the following year. In 2013 she won the Up The Creek ‘One To Watch’ award and was also a finalist in the Leicester Square Theatre New Act Competition. Sarah has since performed at some of the most prestigious comedy venues and festivals in the UK.
In 2014 she was named as ‘One To Watch’ by Time Out Magazine and in 2015 she took her critically-acclaimed debut hour show Elephant to the Edinburgh Fringe. A confessional exploration of escape and ambition, Elephant received great reviews across the board and Sarah was widely heralded as an exciting new comedic voice, a status cemented by her Malcolm Hardee Award nomination for ‘Act Most Likely To Earn A Million Quid’. She brought the show to the Soho Theatre for a run of shows in 2016, again to acclaim, and then on to the Perth and Sydney Comedy Festivals in Australia. August 2016 will see her return to the Fringe with eagerly-awaited follow-up, 24.
Sarah’s interest in stand-up comedy was sparked when she was lucky enough to study improv at Chicago’s Second City School, joining such prestigious alumni as Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Steve Carrell.
