Shumon Sengupta has over 20 years of experience in international development – of working in progressively responsible management and leadership positions in India, Bangladesh, Laos, Sierra Leone and Ghana.
He has worked as Country Director for organizations such as Save the Children UK and Save the Children International and Marie Stopes International in Bangladesh, Laos and Sierra Leone respectively. He has managed large and complex portfolio of grants in a wide range of sectors including Reproductive and Child Health, New-Born and Child Survival, HIV and AIDS, Family Planning and large scale Humanitarian Response. He is currently based out of Accra, Ghana.
His area of expertise includes:
• Strategic planning and management of large technical assistance grants and complex country programmes.
• Healthcare programming at scale
• Programme innovation, policy analysis, advocacy and health sector reform.
• Large scale emergency/humanitarian response
