Simba Mbandaka

DJ, community activist, teacher and father

Simba Mbandaka is a DJ, community activist, teacher and Father. He was born into a family rooted in activism and music; which has made him the person he is today. He is an acclaimed Reggae DJ and under his DJ moniker, ‘Natural Mystic’, he has travelled the world gracing the masses with his musical prowess to countries including Jamaica, America, France, Amsterdam, Spain, Sweden. Simba recently over the summer of 2018 made history by being the first DJ to bring the modern face of Dancehall to the historic Somerset House in the UK in a collaboration with Boiler Room UK. He has worked with various youth organisations and was a founding member of the Pan- African Youth Organisation which put on many successful conferences and events across London. Simba has since worked with youth offenders, taught in Saturday schools, been a mentor, established many workshops in schools, colleges and universities. He has helped put on a number entertainment and educational events across the UK. He continues this work with his primary organisation A.R.M.Y (Alkebu-lan Revivalist Movement Youth), also working closely with G.A.N.G (Guiding A New Generation) and AWF (African World Federation). These are all collectives of young people in the black community doing their part to make a difference, fight against the oppressive power structure but also work directly on the ground to inform and empower their communities.
