Stephen M. Twigg

Writer, teacher and specialist in holistic health and lifestyle coaching. Author of Diana: Her Transformation and The Kensington Diet. www.dianahertransformation.co.uk

Stephen Twigg was born in England in 1950.

After exploring several different career options he discovered his métier in massage and body-mind therapy in 1977 when he obtained his first qualification in Swedish massage. After practicing at a health farm for a short time he moved to London in 1979 and there ran a successful private practice as a holistic health consultant to a clientele comprised mostly from wealthy, influential and famous figures of the day. Diana. Princess of Wales was his client from 1988 to 1995.

During his career Stephen has studied a wide variety of body and mind systems and their effects on health and personal development, including massage, psychotherapy, diet and exercise. Personal studies of spiritual philosophies, particularly Japanese Zen Buddhism and Chinese Taoism, added significantly to his understanding of how the mind and body interact, as did training in martial arts and the Japanese tea ceremony.

His studies led him to the realization that personal health care ultimately requires that an individual undertake a process of personal transformation – health improvement and self-development being synonymous since the mind influences both the body and all life experiences. As he developed his understanding of the human body-mind Stephen’s work evolved to acknowledge the importance of personal responsibility in the process of improving and sustaining health and his methods soon became directed at helping his clients understand themselves, and teaching them skills with which to improve how their body and mind interact. He sees his massage based health counseling as guidance which helps people achieve better physical health while improving their experience of life in the widest context.
Stephen ceased full-time practice in London at the end of 1996 when he left the UK for a year in Spain where he wrote his best-selling diet and lifestyle book, The Kensington Diet. Between 1997 and 1999 he travelled in the US, New Zealand and Europe before eventually settling in the South of France where he stayed until 2004. Since 2005 he has lived most of the time in the UK and for the time being resides on the South coast, where he pursues his personal quest for knowledge and understanding by living his life according to his own philosophy. He regards himself as a healer, metaphysician, spiritual traveler and explorer of life’s mysteries as he writes, speaks, works with selected clients and leads workshops based on his methods.
