Thembinkosi Dlamini

Dlamini is the senior extractives lead at Oxfam South Africa. He has significant experience in the analysis of public budgets, executing economic governance programmes and working with non-state actors in areas of policy advocacy. He has recently been charged with the overall Programme Management of  Amnesty International South Africa’s (AISA) Human Rights work spanning human rights and accountability; economic, social and cultural rights; and rights of marginalized groups and persons. Thembinkosi has also had a short stint at the South African National Treasury where he was Senior Technical Advisor in the Jobs Fund where he was responsible for a portfolio of projects aimed at job creation. He also worked for  Oxfam GB, at the South Africa office as the Governance Manager responsible for fiscal policies, domestic resources mobilisation and taxation policies. Prior to that, He worked for IDASA, an African Democracy Institute as a Senior Researcher in Economic Governance focusing on capacity building in the analysis of public budgets within a transparency, accountability and participation framework. He is a holder of a Master of Laws in International Taxation from the University of Sydney in Australia (2006) where he attained high level of proficiency in the analysis of taxation legislation, policies and procedures within a comparative framework. He also holds the Bachelor of Sciences in Agricultural Economics and Management degree obtained at the University of Swaziland (2000).
