Theuns Eloff

Executive Director of the FW de Klerk Foundation

Dr Theuns Eloff obtained degrees in law and theology from Potchefstroom University. He left the ministry after the 1989 Dakar meeting with the ANC. He joined the Consultative Business Movement and helped facilitate the Peace Accord, led the secretariat at CODESA, and became Head of Administration of the Multi-Party Negotiating Process. In 1995, Eloff became CEO of the National Business Initiative, working for the new democracy through large initiatives like Business Against Crime and the Business Trust. In 2002, Eloff became Vice-Chancellor of his alma mater and served as the first Vice-Chancellor of the newly merged North-West University for 10 years. He is non-executive chairman of Astral Foods, and Chairman of several non-profit organisations. He is Executive Director of the FW de Klerk Foundation. His book “Turning Point” was published in 2017.
