Aldi Launches Le Creuset-Style Cast Iron Cookware – Plus Other Cheaper Alternatives To Buy

It's a fraction of the price.

You finally start feeling like a proper adult once you’ve got something from Le Creuset in your kitchen cupboards – even if it’s just a matching pair of mugs, which is the cheapest of the lot (but still a whopping 15 quid each).

But if – like most of us – you struggle to justify forking up over £200 for a luxury casserole dish (even if you can technically afford it), there are plenty of cast iron cookware alternatives on the market.

They look pretty much the same, too, just don’t let your dinner guests get close to the kitchen. Or, if you’re using it to serve up at the table, strategically place a splodge of your food where the Le Creuset logo should be. You’re welcome.

Aldi’s dupe stoneware range is back for a second year after selling out in 2018. The range comes in three colours – Country Blue, Traditional Red and Modern Grey – and prices range from £3.49, for a Stoneware Mini Assortment, to £24.99 for a Casserole Dish.

The range is available to pre-order online from Sunday 8 September before it hits stores on Sunday 15 September.

Sainsbury’s Home also has a cast iron cookware range, with prices ranging from £10 for an iron griddle pan to £45 for a 5.3L casserole dish. Top tip: it stocks an orange and red range that resembles the Le Creuset’s Volcanic colourway.

Or if you want something slightly higher end, Chasseur is another luxury brand. Its round 3L Casserole Dish costs £75.
