Aliona Vilani Hints At ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Return

'Hopefully I’ll still be involved in the show in other ways.'

Aliona Vilani may have quit ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ at the end of the most recent series, but it seems she may have had a change of heart about the BBC show.

The pro dancer announced her decision to leave after triumphing with Jay McGuinness, last year, however she’s now hinted at a return - though she won’t be hitting the ‘Strictly’ dance floor.

Speaking to the Star on Sunday, Aliona explained: “I won’t be dancing with a celebrity in the next series but hopefully I’ll still be involved in the show in other ways.

“I’m missing it already. When I decided to leave after the final I cried my eyes out. It was very upsetting for me.

"It was a really hard decision. I had enjoyed the season so much.”

The BBC are yet to reveal how Aliona will be involved with the show - and we're excited at the thought of what her new role could entail. Could she be joining the judging panel? Or perhaps the presenting team?

Aliona’s comments come just weeks after she appeared to make a fresh dig at the show, by criticising the fact the dancers are “overworked”.

Addressing the fact she left to start a family, Aliona said: “I really want to start a family with my husband and I can’t just take five months out of my life and not be with my family, without any days off.

“I don’t mind if I would have a day or two days off - maybe that would change my mind - but with ‘Strictly’ you can’t have that.”
