Anneka Rice finished her Strictly Come Dancing journey with one final embarrassing moment on Monday night, as she accidentally grazed Kevin Clifton’s lap during a live TV interview.
The presenter had an awkward brush with her professional partner when they appeared on spin-off show It Takes Two – and what’s worse is that it’s not actually the first time this has happened.
Anneka was chatting to host Rylan Clark-Neal and misplaced her hand while gesturing to Kevin, quickly prompting some giggles and an apology.
Referencing the first incident, Rylan joked: “Not again! I saw you on This Morning. It’s his phone! Move on swiftly, Anneka.”
Anneka and Kevin had appeared on the ITV daytime show earlier in the series, when she touched the dancer’s leg and asked: “What’s that?”
He replied: “That’s my phone,” to which presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby burst into laughter.
Anneka and Kevin became the second couple to be voted out of this year’s competition, after performing a questionable Charleston during Saturday’s Movie Week special.
And while their score of 11 points out of 40 might have had something to do with why they are no longer on the show, Anneka was quick to blame the song choice as to why people did not vote for her.
Speaking about Woo Hoo by The 5.6.7.8’s from the film Kill Bill (which admittedly is one of the most annoying songs of all time), Anneka told Rylan: “Well to be honest that song, I never want to hear it again.
“All the other songs in movie week made your heart soar. I’m not surprised people couldn’t vote for that. It did our heads in in rehearsals.”
Kevin added: “It’s like listening to an alarm clock 24/7.”
Anneka continued: “Sometimes it was like being in the middle of a roadworks.”
The 13 remaining contestants will take to the floor once again when Strictly on Saturday night at 6.40pm on BBC One.
It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
