JK Rowling's April Fools' Day Tweet Effortlessly Trolls Scottish Independence Campaigners

Touché, JK.

JK Rowling has left Scottish nationalists fuming on April Fools' Day with a cheeky photo to hit back at haters who tried to make her the butt of a joke.

The author, who is a staunch Union backer and donated £1m to the campaign to keep Scotland from leaving the UK back in September 2014, was subjected to a photoshop depicting her in a t-shirt displaying an unlikely message on Friday morning.

"JK Rowling has joined The Scottish Resistance and has started her new book 'The Fall of the House of Westmonster'," Facebook member James Scott quipped today.

With the post he added the doctored image of Rowling proudly wearing a message expressing her support for Scottish independence.

Rowling said the post "made my day".

@JamieRoss7 @ExcelPope That's made my day.

But never one to let criticism rile her, the novelist posted a picture of her in a shirt exactly the same she had been mocked up wearing.

@JamieRoss7 @ExcelPope They needn't have used photoshop, though. pic.twitter.com/V1JRdKV5Yc
