Barack Obama Offers Support For Victims Of Barcelona Attack

Former US President Barack Obama tweeted in support of victims of an attack in Barcelona that left at least 13 dead and 100 injured.

Obama said he and Michelle Obama were thinking of the victims and their families and offered “un abrazo,” the Spanish word for hug.

A white van hit pedestrians at a major tourist hub in Barcelona on Thursday afternoon. Police are treating the event as a terrorist attack.

Later, five suspected terrorists were killed in the Spanish town of Cambrils as police foiled a second terrorist attack believed to be connected to the first.
