Thousands Descend On London For People's Vote March – Here Are Some Of The Best Signs

When it comes to placard making, recent political turmoil has provided an abundance of creative inspiration.

Tens-of-thousands of people have taken to the streets of central London in order to demand a final say on Brexit, bringing them to the doorstep of the Commons where MPs are preparing to vote on Boris Johnson’s deal.

Effigies of the Prime Minister and his senior adviser Dominic Cummings were on show during the demonstration, attended by famous faces including Star Trek actor Sir Patrick Stewart.

Protesters push a float depicting Dominic Cummings using Prime Minister Boris Johnson as a puppet down Whitehall ahead of an anit-Brexit march in London.

The float depicting Cummings and Johnson had been driven by 67-year-old Phil Jeanes from the group EU Flag Mafia, from Dusseldorf in Germany on Thursday night.

Campaigners have set out in force to demand a final say on Brexit numerous times before, but as these pictures show, they haven’t yet run out of snappy slogans to proudly display as they march.

We took a look at the wittiest, most elaborate, and perhaps disturbing placards dreamt up by People’s Vote supporters on show.

This sign, which manages to tick the boxes of British humour, insulting slogan, and impressively elaborate design all at once:

Perhaps in an attempt to balance some of the slightly stronger sentiments on show, a bit of good old fashioned humour made it into the mix:

Loads of great signs here at #PeoplesVoteMarch #PeoplesVote today. Love this! pic.twitter.com/ERkDP6d1T4

Eagle-eyed fans even spotted Hollywood A-lister Danny DeVito amongst the crowds (sort of):

Leaving behind the Rugby World Cup in favour of the protest proved to be a sacrifice in itself for some attendees:

The phrase “nightmare fuel” springs to mind:

Many a star-spangled beret has been spotted in the crowds, the top hat has not proven to be a popular choice:

Even in a political crisis, it’s important to remember the Three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Revoke Article 50:

With 3D placards and high-art references, protestors have refused to let standards slips as demonstrations continue:

We all know this is about having the best sign 😂 #PeoplesVoteMarch #BuckFrexit pic.twitter.com/RxugEBUNYv

A painful memory for Westlife fans around the globe, now given a new lease of life in the form of a witty sign on the streets of London:

Fave placard so far #peoplesvotemarch pic.twitter.com/085t7goCCP

Getting some Simpsons-based humour in has been a go-to move for placard makers preparing for a variety of protests, and the People’s Vote march has proven no different:

Automatic top marks for any sign carried by dog (sorry, we don’t make the rules):

And finally, not strictly a placard, but excellent dogs-at-protests content nonetheless:
