I’m A Celebrity viewers were stunned last week when Beverley Callard made a rather candid admission about her husband.

Yes, we’re talking about that time she called him a “mega shag” during a conversation with her fellow campmates.

Well, it turns out no one was more shocked about seeing the admission on screen than Beverley herself, as she watched it back during her highlights montage after her elimination on Monday night.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly the following morning, the former Coronation Street star admitted she was mortified to discover her comment had made it into the show, expecting that because of her choice of language, ITV would have decided not to show it.

I can’t believe they aired that,” Beverley said with a laugh. “I thought, ‘they are quite bad words, so they will just edit that’. When Ant and Dec aired the clip for me last night, I wanted to die. I wanted to die.”

Shall we just relive the iconic moment one more time?

Amazing.

Beverley left the I’m A Celebrity castle in a double-elimination with Victoria Derbyshire, with the pair saying they would be friends for life after bonding on the show.

Holding hands with her former campmate, Victoria said: “Obviously I’ve watched Beverley on TV for years, she is an acting icon, in one of those fantastic female roles in Corrie, but she is warm, she is funny, she is loving, she is kind… she’s a legend, and definitely a friend for life.”

“Without any shadow of a doubt,” Bev agreed, adding: “I have to tell you, the whole group are [friends for life].”

Lorraine airs every weekday at 9am on ITV. Watch Victoria and Beverley’s full interview below:
