The stars of the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory have been sharing photos from their emotional last day on set.
It was announced last year that the long-running US sitcom would be coming to an end, as lead star Jim Parsons had decided to step down at the end of the twelfth series.
With the US airdate for the finale now just two weeks away, Jim and his co-stars have been sharing emotional snaps from their final day on set…
Jim – who plays Sheldon in the show – shared a photo of the gang’s apartment door on Instagram, along with a message thanking fans for their support over the years.
He wrote: “Thank you, apartment 4A, for being a home to so many dreams come true, to so many friendships made.
“And thank YOU, ALL of you - yes, YOU, reading this right NOW! As we get ready to tape our final episode tonight, to walk in and out of this apartment door for the last time, it is hard to find the words to articulate what a profound experience this has been. But the words “love” and “gratitude” come to mind... so love and gratitude to all of you.”
Later in the evening, Jim also shared a photo with his husband Todd, thanking him specifically for his support over the last 12 years that The Big Bang Theory has been on the air.
Meanwhile, his co-stars Kunal Nayyar, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco all shared similar emotional posts, as they celebrated the hugely successful show on their final day at work.
The Big Bang Theory has become one of the biggest shows on TV in recent years, becoming the top-rated show in America last year, and scooping an impressive seven Emmys over the last 12 series
It also landed a spin-off, Young Sheldon, starring Big Little Lies’ Iain Armitage as the child version of Jim Parson’s character.
The final series of The Big Bang Theory is currently airing on E4 in the UK.
