It’s so close we can almost smell the Lynx Africa from here - the ‘Big Brother’ house is almost ready to throw open its doors for another year, with a whole new batch of contestants waiting in the wings to enter the house tonight (7 June).
And while it’s not a ‘Celebrity’ series, a number of the housemates who have been rumoured to be on this year’s line-up have already been in the public eye for one reason or another.
True, they might not be as famous as glitzy ‘CBB’ entrants like Jeremy McConnell, Chloe Goodman and (your favourite A-lister and ours) Frenchy Morgan, but you might just recognise one or two of the line-up.
Here are some of the housemates it's been claimed could be putting in an appearance…
Alex Cannon
Famous for: Being Vicky Pattison’s right-hand man on ‘Judge Geordie’
An insider told The Sun: “Bosses are throwing big money at Alex - it's believed to be about a six figure sum - and it's because they're hoping he'll spill the beans about the nature of their relationship.”
Laura Carter
Famous for: Modelling, a rumoured fling with Justin Bieber.
An insider told the Daily Star: “'Celebrity Big Brother' always gets bigger ratings, so bosses thought getting a few reality stars for the ‘normal’ series is likely to make for a bigger talking point and push viewing figures up.”
Katie Waissel
Famous for: Competing on the seventh series of 'The X Factor' in 2010.
A source told the Daily Star: “Katie will make for compelling viewing because she is such a character. She is bound to divide opinion just like she did on The X Factor.”
Unfortunately, Katie’s rep has since dismissed the rumours.
Natalie Rowe
Famous for: A notorious snap with George Osborne
According to the Sunday People’s source: “[Producers] are going to have to legally vet a lot of what she says because she claims to have such explosive information about some very powerful men.”
Celia Kay
Famous for: A fling with footballer Olivier Giroud
Digital Spy have listed her among this year’s potential ‘BB’ stars.
Emma Willis returns to host this year’s ‘BB’ live launch on Tuesday night (7 June), at 9pm on Channel 5.
As you can see below, a lot of last year’s housemates had also previously tried their hand at the fame game...
