'Big Brother' Odds: Alex Cannon Named Bookies' Favourite To Win From New Housemates

The bookies' pick has 'gone down well, particularly with female punters'.

We’re only a couple of days into the new series of ‘Big Brother’, but already bookies have an early favourite to be crowned this year’s winner.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Alex Cannon has been named the current top choice to win the prize, after making an impression on viewers with his first night in the house, with odds currently standing at 9/2.

A spokesperson for Ladbrokes said of the model and personal trainer: “Clearly Alex has gone down well, particularly with our female punters.”

During his opening VT, Alex told viewers about how he “respected women” because his mum is his “best friend” and said he's a “big advocate for treating people how you’d like to be treated”, which was a welcome change from some of the housemates’ testimonials.

According to bookies, Jackson Blyton is just behind Alex, at 5/1, with Andy Hill third most likely to win, at 7/1.

However, things are looking decidedly less promising for Laura Carter and Marco Pierre White Jr whose winning odds are at 20/1 and 16/1 respectively.

This probably isn’t helped by the fact that just an hour after arriving in the ‘BB’ house, Laura was put up for the first eviction, with the ‘others’ choosing to target her when she chose herself as the “sexiest” housemate.

Like most of this year’s housemates, Alex’s ‘BB’ stint isn’t his first crack at the reality TV whip, as he previously served as Vicky Pattison’s right-hand man in the ‘Geordie Shore’ spin-off, ‘Judge Geordie’.
