On Tuesday, Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas, endorsed Kamala Harris for president in a video posted on Eilish’s social media urging people to register to vote.

“We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy,” Eilish said in the video.

“We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future,” Finneas, who often collaborates with and produces his sister’s music, added. “The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.”

“Vote like your life depends on it because it does,” Eilish concluded.

Harris’ campaign account on X, formerly called Twitter, reposted the video and added the caption “Birds of a feather,” a nod to one of Eilish’s songs.

The nine-time Grammy winner has been vocal about her political views in the past. In 2021, when she was performing at the Austin City Limits music festival in Austin, Texas, she told the crowd that she almost didn’t go through with the show because of the state’s anti-abortion bill passed that same year.

“When they made that shit a law, I almost didn’t want to do the show,” Eilish said at the time. “Because I wanted to punish this fucking place for allowing that to happen here. But then I remembered it’s you guys who are the fucking victims and you guys deserve everything in the world. And we need to tell them to shut the fuck up. My body, my fucking choice.”

Eilish’s endorsement of Harris comes a week after fellow pop artist Taylor Swift backed the Democratic presidential nominee in a post on Instagram, writing that Harris “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them” and “is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Swift’s support of Harris apparently upset former President Donald Trump so much that on Sunday, he wrote on Truth Social, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
