Black Mirror Creators Confirm Donald Trump's Win Is Not Part Of An Episode

'This is reality.'

Donald Trump is going to be the president of the United States of America. Let that sink in for a moment.

Yes, it seems like it could be an episode of Black Mirror.

In fact, the makers of the hit dystopian series have had to clarify that the revelation was neither a marketing ploy or indeed an entire episode of Black Mirror:

This isn't an episode. This isn't marketing. This is reality.

Charlie Brooker, the show’s creator who also produces an annual “Wipe” each year, also tweeted following Trump’s victory:

2016 Wipe increasingly resembling a vertical cliff face with no footholds.

The news of Trump’s victory also compelled people to re-share a clip of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow confirmed that this was not, in fact, all a horrible dream.

She told viewers: “You’re awake by the way. You’re not having a terrible, terrible dream.

“Also you’re not dead and you haven’t gone to hell.

“This is your life now. This is our election now. This is us. This is our country.

“It’s real.”
