Blue Peter Reveals (Adorable) New Dog, Henry, And We're Already Smitten With Him

There are few things more British than everyone excitedly freaking out over a Blue Peter dog.

Let’s be honest: the news sucks right now and there are only so many Brexit updates one nation can take.

So we’re especially glad that Blue Peter has lightened the mood on this grey day – which has also seen snow in some parts of the UK – by introducing their new dog, Henry.

The two-year-old will make his official debut on tonight’s (Thursday April 4) show, but dipped his first paw into the world of entertainment on BBC Breakfast this morning.

The rescue dog is a beagle-basset hound cross and quite frankly, we’re in love with him already.

We aren’t the only ones Henry has totally charmed either:

Seeing #BluePeter trending because they have a new dog is the most British thing and I love it. Although, we all know Mabel and Meg were the best.

Henry has been adopted from the Dog’s Trust and follows in a long line of resident Blue Peter dogs, including Petra, Goldie, Shep, Bonnie, Mabel and Meg.

After his introduction tonight, viewers will follow Henry’s story as he leaves the rehoming centre with his new family and adapts to his new life.

He’ll also receive check-ups from CBBC’s Pets Factor vet, Rory Cowlam, while on his visits to the Blue Peter office and studio.

Henry is the 10th dog to appear on Blue Peter and there have also been five tortoises, nine cats and two parrots on the show.
