1. Going into the final episode, there wasn’t a single person we wouldn’t approach for answers

2. As soon as it started, everyone was paralysed by tension

I have NO idea what’s going on anymore but my whole body feels like David Budd’s thumb right now. #Bodyguard

3. It was *almost* as tense as one of the other great TV moments of the year

This is more tense than when Georgia was waiting for Josh to come back to the villa and he turned up with Kaz #bodyguard

4. David Budd’s impressive hiding places inspired many

After seeing the technique used so effectively in #Bodyguard, I've started hiding important items behind my boiler so nobody else can find them pic.twitter.com/vp33FScUTN

5. Although they weren’t so convinced by the realism of his navigational skills

Well impressed David Budd walked all the way home without Citymapper #Bodyguard

6. And that wasn’t the only thing viewers had a hard time buying

While #Bodyguard was fun to watch, just remember it can’t happen in real life; not with me keeping an eye on things pic.twitter.com/euWdp5YDb6

8. Everyone’s minds were well and truly blown

Jed Mercurio triple-bluffed your double-bluff by unbluffing your first bluff with a double-bluff bluff #bodyguard pic.twitter.com/Hrovi1kTBW

9. Although, for some, the biggest revelation was that David’s surname isn’t actually Bird

It’s only taken 6 episodes for me to realize his name was ‘Budd’. I just thought everyone was saying ‘Bird’ in his accent. #bodyguard

10. ‘Line Of Duty’ fans managed to find what they thought was a glaring error during Craddock’s questioning

How come DCI Sharma is able to question Lorraine Craddock? If there's one thing I've learned from another Jed Mercurio show, it's that police officers have the right to be questioned by an officer at least one rank senior. #Bodyguard

11. Writer Jed Mercurio quickly cleared this up, though

#Bodyguard pedantry - It’s only in matters of police professional standards that officers are interviewed by someone at least one rank senior. If an officer has been arrested for a criminal offence, they’re treated like anyone else.

12. Julia Montague conspiracists eagerly awaited her reappearance

It's finished, but still waiting for Julia to reappear.#Bodyguard pic.twitter.com/DBFshDE1BR

13. And even when her death was all but confirmed, there were some who could just not the the theory she is alive go

When #Bodyguard has ended but you still can't let the 'Julia's still alive' theory go... #Bodyguard #bodyguardbbc pic.twitter.com/3zdUcAIjBB

14. The show’s important message about mental health did not go unnoticed

Turning #bodyguard’s final moments into a touching moment about men’s mental health has just totally got me and makes this truly the best of British programming ❤️ #Itsoknottobeok pic.twitter.com/c5cElRTzVl

15. Neither did his crappy car

David Budd put himself on the line for National Security. The amount of shit he had to deal with in a short space of time and he’s rolling around in a 10 plate Nissan Qashqai. Poor bastard #Bodyguard

16. However, one important question remained unanswered

SO WHO WAS THE BOYFRIEND? #Bodyguard

17. In all...

Remember breathing? That was fun. #Bodyguard
