Boy Dies At Longleat Center Parcs Indoor Swimming Pool

"Intense resuscitation attempts" were made by staff before the child sadly passed away.

A boy has died after “falling ill” while playing in an indoor pool at Center Parcs in Longleat Forest.

An eyewitness told the Wiltshire Times the child was playing in the sub-tropical indoor pool area of the complex when the incident occurred last Saturday.

Other guests present at the time said there had been “some very intense resuscitation attempts by staff” before the boy passed away.

A spokesperson from the company confirmed that staff members had provided CPR with help from medically-trained members of the public until paramedics arrived at the scene.

She added: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic news that a young guest passed away after becoming unwell whilst at Longleat Forest.

“Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. We are continuing to offer our support to the family and to our employees who provided immediate assistance.

“In accordance with the family’s wishes for privacy at this difficult time, we will not be providing any further detail or comment.”
