‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winner Richard Jones has revealed he’s got high hopes for his appearance at this year’s Royal Variety Performance, admitting he’s keen to rope in one of the royals to help him with his latest trick.
On Saturday night, the public chose Richard as the first ever magician to win ‘BGT’ in 10 series, following his patriotic performance that drew on his time in the military.
Now he’s been crowned ‘BGT’ winner, the sky’s clearly the limit for Richard, and he’s got big aspirations for the next time we see him.
As reported by the Daily Star, he said: “If Prince Harry would be up for it, and I’m allowed, then it would be great to do a trick with him.
Richard added: “In the past I joked that if I won, I’d like to read the Queen’s mind but I’m not sure I’d be allowed to use the Queen.”
The close-up magician’s place in this year’s ‘BGT’ final was a particularly controversial one, after it emerged that a very similar trick to the one he performed in the semi-final had already been featured by another illusionist on ‘America’s Got Talent’.
However, Richard insisted that he was worthy of his spot, claiming at the time: “New ideas won’t always be found nowadays so I’m thinking what I can do that’s similar but make it more understanding and more updated. That’s what magic is all about.”
