‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalist Wayne Woodward has opened up about his recent trip to hospital, revealing that he was taken to see a doctor after suffering his first ever epileptic fit backstage.
Wayne was one of two acts to secure a place in this year’s ‘BGT’ final on Monday night (23 May), but his celebrations were cut short when he collapsed backstage.
His sister then gave fans an update, sharing a photo of Wayne in a hospital gown with the message: “He gave us a scare! Fear not he is fine! Ready to go smash the final.”
Wayne has now spoken out about his health problems, revealing to The Sun that he suffered a seizure after his victorious performance of ‘That’s Life’.
He explains: “I went for a fag and I don’t remember anything after that. The next thing I know I was surrounded by people including paramedics and my mum and dad.
Wayne admits that his health problems have caused him to miss some rehearsals ahead of Saturday night’s (28 May) live final, but insists: “I’m back in the studio now, rehearsing as much as I can for the final and I’m feeling ready, fighting fit.”
The swing singer is now gearing it up to battle it out against his 11 fellow ‘BGT’ finalists, including wildcard acts Trip Hazard and Shannon & Peter, who were announced as the public’s and the judges’ favourite third place semi-finalists on Friday.
This year’s ‘BGT’ final kicks off at 7.30pm on ITV.
