British ExoMars Rover Named After Female Scientist Rosalind Franklin
The UK made ExoMars rover has been named after British scientist Rosalind Franklin. The rover will be exploring the surface of Mars in 2021. The UK Space Agency said it named the rover after Franklin because of her ground-breaking work in DNA imaging and in the hope that seeing a female scientist honoured in this way would encourage young girls interested in getting into STEM fields.
