’X Factor’ bosses have announced 4 Of Diamonds will replace axed contestants Brooks Way.
The girlband were chosen to return to the competition by Groups mentor Louis Walsh, following the news twins Josh and Kyle Brooks had left the ITV talent show.
4 Of Diamonds were originally sent home during Louis’ Judge’s House in Ibiza, but will now resume a place on the live shows.
Speaking about his decision to bring them back, Louis said in a statement: “I was really impressed with the girls at Judges’ Houses but only had three spots to fill for the Live Shows. At the time a lot of viewers were disappointed that I didn’t put the girls through, now that a place has opened up in my category, I’ve listened to the fans and am delighted to be bringing the girls back.
“They’re a great girl group and I’m hoping will take me all the way to the final.”
The girls - made up of Caroline (19) Lauren (21) Yasmin (17) and Sophia (19) - added: “We are so excited to be back on The X Factor we’re really looking forward to performing live, working hard and showing everyone what we’re made of.”
Producers announced the decision to remove Brooks Way from the show on Monday (10 October), after Josh Brooks faced allegations that he physically abused his ex-girlfriend.
His former girlfriend Amelia Clark claims he punched and bit her during their four year relationship, which came to an end earlier this year.
An ‘X Factor’ spokesperson said: “Following the allegations relating to Josh Brooks, we have decided by mutual consent that Brooks Way should leave the competition.”
Josh also said: “I’ve decided that it’s best not to be on the show at this time. While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved.”
He also posted a message on Twitter, which read: “Today, we have had a tough day with a false allegation. Don’t believe everything you read, both Amelia and Josh will be stating the truth.”
They added: “The truth always wins.”
‘The X Factor’ continues on Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
